Walking Through Grief

This breathwork and accompanying journal prompts can be helpful for anyone navigating a grief journey at this time. This session is full of emotional expression, so please assure you are ready for this expression when you engage with the video. This breathwork uses more slow paced alternative songs with a splash of pop and Elvis. We will be breathing together for about 30 minutes, and allowing the music to help us continue our journey through our own grief process. This journey may include some laughing, crying, anger, ecstasy, and any other response you can think of. It is important to allow the emotions, whether they feel positive or negative, to sit with them, and then let them go. My goal for this event is to help you move through this grief with love in our hearts. This is an opportunity to breathe through the emotions and allow them to pass. They come up to be healed.

There are some body effects that can happen as we breathe. Some people become cold, hence having a blanket is helpful, while others may become hot. Some may have some cramping in their hands or face, which is a normal response to breathing in this way, too. If at any moment you feel uncomfortable with the breath, please return to your normal state of breathing until you feel comfortable, then pick up the breath cycle again. I am not a medical practice, a mental health professional, and I’m not medically trained. The topics I share about grief are things I have learned through my own process. If you suffer from any serious condition you should check with your medical practitioner prior to breathing with me. This style is not advised for conditions such as acute heart conditions, epilepsy, delicate pregnancy, and some mental health conditions, too. If you’re unsure, breath normally through the first session, and pay attention to how you feel. Lastly, please give yourself time to ground after this exercise before driving or doing any other task that demands your full attention.
